I have been wanting to write about this for a while now. I just don't know how to word it without going into boring specifics.
I guess I'm just getting so frustrated with work right now. It's not even that it's a bad gig or anything like that. It's just how the corporate machine works and how you have to accept the bad along with the good.
I guess it is hard to be happy when you are told to do reports and spreadsheets now instead of giving you time to prepare. I don't understand why certain things are extremely important at 10 am and by 1pm it has been forgotten. I can't comprehend how someone can tell you to get something done ASAP and say they'll help you with it on Friday afternoon and then call on Monday morning asking if you got it done, even though they never came down to help you with it.
I don't understand why some people don't question authority when it could mean standing up for yourself or getting out of work.
I don't understand why some people can't follow instructions. Instead they say stuff like "I'll call the boss and see if she wants more information on this report." NO!!! We do not call the boss because more than likely she will tell you to add more to your report.
I don't understand why you have to kiss ass when you don't even like the person. If that person is your manager or boss it doesn't mean they are allowed to treat you like shit. It doesn't mean that they can hold your review over your head if you don't invite her to lunch everyday or if you laugh while she is three desks down because she might interpret that as making fun of her.
I'm just sick of it all. but only enough to complain about it.
I do feel confident that if I do get fed up I'll be ok with leaving as long as my next job is a step toward a goal I have. Don't take this as I'm leaving this job. I just think as long as I know I can go somewhere else and that I can do something else I'm not controlled by fear. Maybe I need to follow my own advice in other areas of my life.
