the knees of hell

Ever since I was a little tyke my knees would hurt when the weather changed and on random other days. My mom had the same problem growing up but when she was a child living in a rural Mexican town, home remedies were used to "cure" her pain. She told me the old ladies put kerosene on her legs to make the pain go away. I don't remember how it went but all I know is that my mom hated that and she still has all the pain.

I still get the pains. Like today. All day I could feel the dull ache in my knees and the left one hurts even more than the other. I really should invest in a knee brace/wrap or as Zac says, I should go to the doctor since I have insurance. Ugh....I hate having to look for a new doctor.

About a year or so ago, Zac told me my knees weren't normal looking. When sitting on the floor and straightening my legs out, the back of my knees shouldn't easily touch the ground. I never realized that I wasn't normal but then I just realized that maybe this is why my knees hurt so much. Maybe this is why my mom had so many problems too. I never asked her but it would make sense. Oh....where is my analgesic old lady cream.

what a pretty sunday

I love rain! Love it, love it, love it! We don't get rain all the time and so when the day is cloudy and rainy, it is just a beautiful day. Today also happens to be the second anniversary of me and the tall man being together. Mushy mushy. I won't subject you all to that.

I'm a bit on the brain dead side lately. I've been preoccupied with figuring out how to save money so we can do everything we want. I want to sign up for my 401k, which I keep putting off, I want to pay off my computer, I want to do my taxes, I want to save up to take trips, I want to save up to get a house. But all this takes time and willpower to save my money instead of buying all the stupid crap like food and clothes that I want.

Ok time to attempt looking at this excel class I got myself into. yay.

boys will be boys

This afternoon I went over to Peter Piper Pizza and helped celebrate my youngest nephew's 3rd birthday (Saul is the one on the right). He is really into pirates and my brother also told me that Saul is really into all the dark characters of cartoons and movies. We have an emo 3 year old running around.

All three of my nephews were in attendance so it was great to see all of them. They don't see each other a whole lot but they know they are family and so they treat each other really well and its great to see how they interact with each other. The oldest is my godson and it's so interesting to see how he treats Saul because he almost treats him like another little brother. Well soon they'll be adding another to the cousin crew because my sister-in-law is prego.

While I was snapping these pictures I kept trying to get one with my nephew David. Finally his mom made him pose for me. So of course he did his Spiderman pose and tried to shoot me with webbing. My sister in law then told me that he asks her to part his hair like Peter Parker. He apparently thinks he is Spiderman. He even told her he wanted to be white because Peter Parker is white. His mom told him he is Mexican so he is staying brown. I don't think he believes her.

Dear Mia and Danny,

I am very sorry for peeing all over your floor. I just didn't understand what was going on. Daddy came home and then mommy and daddy were both ready to leave again. Usually they don't take me places at night so when they took my leash out I was so excited. I got to go for a car ride and then uncle Dan joined me in the back seat of Mr. Y. Then when we got to your house and I saw all the new people and doggies I just couldn't control myself (literally). I'm also sorry to leave you a mookie stink present in your backyard. I guess I just feel really comfortable there.

I did have a lot of fun and I promise I will control myself better next time. Please invite me over again and invite the puppy too. He was fun to hang out with. The cat was pretty cool too. The one you call "Hiccup" he can be locked away, he barked at me too much.

Love,
Daisy

the answer to all your problems

I found the granny panties that kept us laughing at work a few weeks ago.

It's got a secret.....

yup you can see that old ladies need a safe place to keep their monies. I personally wish I could have gotten a hold of the photo before it went to print and I could have added a little toy dinosaur peeking out of the pocket.

Hurry now and get yourself a pair. Sizes range from medium to 4X so thats a good size pocket.

But for those of you that need something sexier check out call me panty.

need sleep now

Today was both hellacious and interesting.

-I found out about gay square dancing.
-During lunch we had quite a dirty conversation about "googling" ourselves.
-I was told that if you want to listen to real or correct news you should watch Fox News.
-I had a horrible headache all afternoon. I was told I was probably hungover from a glass of wine I had last night.
-On the way home I saw a lot of old geezers milling around downtown....what's going on? Why wasn't I invited?
-Also on the way home I saw what I hope was a woman with the largest boobs I have ever seen in my life. Humongous. Gigantic. Enormous. I really hope it was a woman.
-I found out Magic Carpet Golf closed down.

cookies ruin everything

On Sunday I noticed I couldn't access gmail, blogger, facebook, or hotmail. I turned off my computer and forgot about it all day. Monday night I tried again and nothing worked so I had to wait for Zac to come home and fix it for me. Stupid delicious cookies ruining my computer and preventing me from wasting hours and hours "checking on things". Turns out when I'm not glued to the computer I actually do stuff. Well everything works again so it's back to wasting time.

On another note, yesterday I officially paid off my last credit card and am now on a clean slate. I did open a Target card over Christmas but will close that at the end of this month and will sign up for a card that has a low or no APR for the first 6 mos to year. I am also looking for a card that has some sort of point system so I can get nifty giftcards like Zac does. I've done some research so soon I'll decide. So now I can officially cross something off my 2008 to do list.I also signed up for an excel class at Pima Community College. It is online so it works great with my schedule since the in-class version meets at noon on weekdays. I'm kind of excited because even though I tell everyone I don't want to go back to school I like being a school girl.

my weakness

Today I went to the almost dead El Con mall. I've been wanting to shop for so long so I decided with this payday to get some stuff. Everyone is clearancing out their fall/winter clothes so sales are good. There also happens to be a Macy's in this mall and it so happens to be closing so they are having clearance deals like crazy. Even though the clothes aren't all dirt cheap it's at least 50% off. I saw one really really really really pretty shirt but at $50 on clearance I just couldn't justify it. But I could justify a blue corduroy jacket for $30. It's amazing how shopping can make me happy.

gossip and poop

This afternoon I randomly ran into one of my cousins. It has probably been over a year and a half since I last saw her. She has always been one of those people that is much more mature for her age. She has probably been the most down to earth of all my cousins that I could talk to and get along with.

It was really nice to see her and now I'm kicking myself for not keeping in touch. The great part was that she didn't hold back on the family gossip! I was in shock for like 20 minutes just listening to everything she was saying. I'll just say everyone has a baby or got pregnant last year. It was an epidemic.

Oh and when I got home Daisy left a stinky present for me on the living room floor. When I first opened the door I thought "OH GOD! What did Zac make for lunch?" Then I scrambled to turn on a light because I knew what that smell was and I was afraid I had already stepped in it. Luckily I didn't but I did find it quickly and it was wet. Gross!

talk about random

This morning I took Daisy out for a walk. We had just crossed Camino Santiago which is a pretty busy street in the neighborhood. After we crossed, a dog came running up to us from nowhere. I let Daisy's leash a little loose so they could sniff each other but then the brown and white dog ran over to a yard and started sniffing around. It was a very hard walk because Daisy wanted to go play with the dog and the dog would disappear and then come back to us a few houses away. I cut our walk short and the other dog kept following us. When I got back home the dog followed me into the yard and they ran after each other while I went inside to tell Zac a dog followed me home. We separated the dogs and it turns out the doggy was another girl and she had her dog license tag and her Petwatch ID tag. So I called that Petwatch ID number and they told me the dog belonged to a lady named Maria and they gave me two phone numbers. I called Maria and I told her I had her dog and turns out she lives a couple streets down from us. As I was walking the doggy back to her house and as I was turning the corner I saw a lady walking towards me and she says "Teresa is that you?" I look at her and I couldn't believe it was Suzi, a lady I work with! She is a control buyer like me but works in direct imports and sits in a different area than I do. How random it that? So we chatted a bit and it turns out her doggy likes to jump their backyard wall but usually she comes back after she gets out.

Now Daisy is sad because she thought she had a forever friend.

new year shenanigans

New Year's Eve consisted of grocery shopping, coming home, getting into pajamas, taking two tylenol p.m's, writing a blog while Dan and Zac played Wii, getting the biggest blanket I own and falling asleep while waiting for midnight, give/get midnight kiss and go back to sleep in my bed.

New Year's Day was quite different. We went over to my parents where we ate menudo and bunuelos. My oldest brother, his wife and son made an appearance. This was the best part. It had been 6 months since I last saw any of them and they live 10 minutes away from us. Saul, my nephew, has grown up a bit since we last saw him but he still is a sweet little guy. Most memorable moment was when he was asked what was Zac's name and his response "Monster". Hee hee. My mom then fed us again with pot roast, rice and beans. After dinner we played a few rounds of Boggle (Zac's present) and we introduced them to Catchphrase (our present to them). We only played one round but it was fun. Right after Catchphrase we flew back to our house (a usual 45 minute drive) in about 25-30 minutes to meet up with Dave and Jaime. When we got home Dave, Jaime and Dan were all waiting for us in our living room. Sorry guys. We then took them to Grill where we munched on yummy foods and listened to the table next to us have thrilling conversations about something smart and we also watched Zac type out his google conversations on the table. Then we headed back to the house where Wii was played and much shouting ensued. I especially enjoyed Jaime shouting "slanty eyes, hook tooth" or something like that.
