nice

it is absolutely beautiful outside! i love this time as the sun goes down and the temperatures are perfect. it's been pretty warm during the days but i'm stuck inside all day.

the animals are out enjoying the sun. the birds are chirping and the grasshoppers are going nuts. it's barely the end of april but i'm ready for the monsoons. i can't wait for power outages, afternoon thunderstorms, and lightening that scares the bejeebus out of me! the smell of wet desert is probably the most beautiful smell i'll ever smell. mmmm.....

my parents are planning a get together this weekend to thank everyone that helped with the house. it will be nice to see everyone again and relax while eating some good food. i called my mom right now to see how things are going with their planning and she asked me to bring a cake that says happy birthday. it just happens to be her birthday on saturday. i was confused because last week she told me not to tell anyone it was her birthday and now she changed her mind. oh well....it'll be fun!

number 29

Someone was supposed to plan and surprise me for my birthday but I think the pressure was too much. But we did go to a nice restaurant. I figured we'd start with dinner and then go from there and see what else I'd feel like doing later on in the night. A lot of people at work rate Fleming's as their favorite restaurant so we went there. I thought it was going to be a lot fancier than it was but we are in Tucson and Tucson is pretty laid back when it comes to dress code. But we still put on our nice clothes.

The people were really nice at the restaurant and when they found out it was my birthday they kept saying happy birthday throughout the night. We had some great drinks that included a water lily martini and mojitos and we had the best kalamari ever! The steak was delicious and the creme brulee was amazing!!!! After paying, the waiter came back to our table to take the check and he left me a box with chocolate covered strawberries. I was truly amazed!

It was a great dinner and even though Zac was stuffed he still ate all my leftovers so we were pretty much in a food coma when we left the place. We decided to go home where we immediately fell asleep! So much for a wild and crazy night!

Easter Treat Hunt!

The doggies smell something good!

Bishop has no idea he's right next to it! Daisy is already munchin on her treat!

Yay he found it!

Daisy being a good girl and sitting before I let her go after the treat.

I had to have them on their leashes otherwise Daisy would have eaten all the treats before Bishop would even have a chance!

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone has a nice day today! If you are religious rejoice if you aren't then don't rejoice but be thankful for a cute day like today!

I have always loved Easter. I love decorating eggs. I love baskets. I love that its usually near my birthday! I remember when I was little my dad would hide the eggs and each of us would get a special egg with our name on it and a map. Our map would take us to another 3 or 4 eggs until it took us to our final egg with money!!! One time my brother's final egg was up on the roof and that was pretty fun!

Too bad Zac has to work today! I have a roast in the crockpot (first time using it!) . In a little bit I'm going to decorate eggs just cause I want to and I bought us some cadbury eggs to enjoy later. I had to buy some easter candy!

I'm contemplating hiding treats in the backyard for Bishop and Daisy but first I need to clean up the treats that were left for me by them. I'll see if I can get pictures of the doggies on the easter treat hunt!

all this talk about smoking

We have this weird plant in our backyard that just shot up in a short amount of time. When we first moved in back in October the plant was about 6 inches high if that and now its taller than me. We've been wondering what this thing is because even though it looks pretty its kind of in the way of the water spigot and it kind of freaks me out to have my hand touch the plant.

So I went online today and found that this looks a hell of a lot like the Tree Tobacco or Nicotiana glauca. Poisonous to ingest and has some nicotine like quality to it.

Now I don't feel bad about chopping it down.

I do love the bougainvilleas though....I need to clean it up and take away the dead branches so it will be happy!
