misleading emails

Around 2pm one of my co-workers received an email, it sounded something like this:
*******************************
Hi Jane,

Attached is the photo of a handbag we've been talking about. Hopefully in January I'll be able to go down to Tucson and see you and everyone else. I'll bring the new line of handbags we have. Maybe I'll stay for a couple of days so I can get some peace in Arizona.

J-
*********************************

So she opened the attachment thinking she was going to see a new handbag.

Instead the only photo attached was similar to this one...

The real picture had this man in a tight black shirt and blue jeans out on a deserted desert road. He had sunglasses on and his thumbs were in his front belt loops and his hands formed a diamond shape around his zipper. Pretty much a shot of him saying "Come on, you know you want this."

So we laughed and laughed because we have all met him. On the phone he sounds like a really cute 20 something. When he came in for his vendor meeting I was kind of jazzed thinking I'd see a really hot guy and was so disappointed when I saw the real guy. His hair is his prized possession and he even said he takes 2 hours to do it. When I saw his hair it was all greasy and slimy. His overall personality kind of gives you the heebie jeebies. He thinks he is God's gift to women. So we all made fun of Jane for getting this email. We told her to reply asking him for the handbag photo or something like "I couldn't open the attachment can you send it again?" I asked her if I could post it on the web but she wouldn't forward the email. So I looked him up on Google and turns out he is in some rock band called Erocktica and his web page has a slide show of him trying to look hot.

So we can't wait for J- to come in for his next vendor meeting. We will spend the whole meeting looking down at our hands because if we make any type of eye contact during that meeting we will probably all bust up laughing.

Twilight extravaganza

So I remember when the book came out but didn't really pay much attention to it. I remember giving Danielle the second book in the series as a gift not knowing it was part of a series. I heard all the hype surrounding the movie but forgot about everything else. I have a bad memory.

A coworker wanted to go see it so Friday night we went and braved the crowds of teenage girls with their Team Edward shirts and their Nintendo DSamabobbers. We stood in the ridiculous line to get into the theater only to be deathly afraid of the theater employee that we called "the line nazi". He made kids that were supposedly cutting in line go to the end of the line when they were gone to get popcorn. He made kids stand up in case the line moved. He mumbled stuff like "I'll kick you out, I've done it" (BTW-Daisy has bad gas, yikes!) So when I heard the line nazi go around yelling I was deathly afraid to move and there was no way I was leaving the line to get popcorn and soda.

The movie finally started and at first I wasn't digging the Edward or Mr. Cedric Diggory's vamp look. I found myself swooning halfway through the movie thinking how cute Edward is. Ridiculous. I'm not a 10 year old girl!

Even though Angel and Spike (Blondie Bear) will be my most favoritest vamps of all time I can understand why Edward is appealing. I enjoyed the movie. It was fun to watch and I'll now read the books so I can buy a t-shirt next time and be a cool kid.

P.S. They showed the trailer for Harry Potter!!!! I'm excited!

fire

So someone wanted a fire pit. So this someone decided that making his own fire pit would be cheaper and more fun. This someone's ladyfriend was afraid of what this homemade fire pit would look like. Thankfully, the 10 minute fire pit isn't too shabby.

Dan serenades us with lovely renditions of stuff.

I couldn't resist. How cool is this eyeglass case? Costco let Dan have it.

Tofu! and Pad Thai! and Pei Wei!

I never would have thought that I would say tofu but I love it! I had a roommate that introduced me to tofu and I still sometimes yearn for a dish she would make with tofu and chicken. All I remember is that it was good.

I also love Pei Wei and their pad thai bowl. Tonight we went there for dinner and I got the green curry with chicken and although it was good it wasn't the same. I should have ordered the pad thai.

the things people say

You know you have those days at work that just make you wonder about people.

Today was one of those days for me.

Towards the end of the day a lady from the second floor came down to my little area and showed the buyer a complaint letter. This complaint letter was from a typewriter and on somewhat official stationary with a really cool stamp of an eagle with a circle around it that said something like "stamp of secrecy". So by looking at it really fast you think this is probably like some high up dude in the Navy or something. At first you are kind of like "oh shit, did we just piss off the Navy?"

No.

We pissed off some old lady that didn't like the shoes she got. The shoes pictured aren't the ones that we got the complaint on but it is my favorite style from this vendor. Anyway, Mr. Me typed the letter stating that "My wife and me have been customers for 12 years". Interesting that Mr. Me has been a customer of our ladies catalog. Yeah, he probably buys stuff for his wife as presents but whatever. Mr. Me then goes on to say that they have bought from our catalog and have purchased items that aren't the greatest but they are ok. Their last purchase was the last straw. He said something along the lines of the pair being overpriced and that we have the "gall" to charge $80.00 for shoes he wouldn't even pay $6.00.

My favorite part was when he said the shoe was "a piece of Chinese shit".

Hah...I can just picture this little old man sitting at his ancient typewriter with some stationary he swiped from work. His bitchy wife telling him what to write. Then he thinks..."Where is that really cool stamp with the eagle that makes things look official? This will teach them."

moms and pops

This past weekend we went to Marana to go see my parents. The house finally passed the last inspection and my mom was ready to move herself in.

This first picture shows where my dad is starting on the patio.

This is the living room and those plants are all the stupid plants I lugged across the yard.

This is the entertainment center my brother built.

The almost finished kitchen.

The dining room.

I already love green olives. Green olives stuffed with jalapenos is even better!

I'm addicted to these.
