the things people say

You know you have those days at work that just make you wonder about people.

Today was one of those days for me.

Towards the end of the day a lady from the second floor came down to my little area and showed the buyer a complaint letter. This complaint letter was from a typewriter and on somewhat official stationary with a really cool stamp of an eagle with a circle around it that said something like "stamp of secrecy". So by looking at it really fast you think this is probably like some high up dude in the Navy or something. At first you are kind of like "oh shit, did we just piss off the Navy?"

No.

We pissed off some old lady that didn't like the shoes she got. The shoes pictured aren't the ones that we got the complaint on but it is my favorite style from this vendor. Anyway, Mr. Me typed the letter stating that "My wife and me have been customers for 12 years". Interesting that Mr. Me has been a customer of our ladies catalog. Yeah, he probably buys stuff for his wife as presents but whatever. Mr. Me then goes on to say that they have bought from our catalog and have purchased items that aren't the greatest but they are ok. Their last purchase was the last straw. He said something along the lines of the pair being overpriced and that we have the "gall" to charge $80.00 for shoes he wouldn't even pay $6.00.

My favorite part was when he said the shoe was "a piece of Chinese shit".

Hah...I can just picture this little old man sitting at his ancient typewriter with some stationary he swiped from work. His bitchy wife telling him what to write. Then he thinks..."Where is that really cool stamp with the eagle that makes things look official? This will teach them."

Interesting that he did pay $80 for the shoes...if you don't like them, why buy them in the first place?

I'm all for catalog buying but personally I would almost never buy a piece of clothing or a shoe and expect it would fit perfectly or be crazy-awesome. The fact that you may have to return an item that you might want to try on first is kind of a given.
