Sunday afternoon I went to my first ever political fundraiser. The same friend that has kept us posted on all the rallies and activist news is also a big supporter of Randy Parraz. Through facebook we were invited to a tardeada for Randy Parraz. I was interested in the event because everything I have read about this man sounds so different from the other candidates running. I felt like going to this event would be a great way to hear him speak and meet some other people that support Randy. We didn't really know what to expect and so when we got there we scouted out our table along with some friends and waited for the festivities to begin. We met some new people, we ate a yummy plate of mexican food that we only paid $5 for and we got some music to dance to. Not bad for only paying $5 for a plate of food and a suggested donation of $10. We met a couple of other candidates running for office and we also heard a few speeches from some entertaining guest speakers.
It was really interesting to be involved in something like this. Now I'm just waiting for the phone calls to get me to volunteer. Alls I know is that I'm not doing the phonebanking thing!!! I refuse!
