in my jammies

Today is a lazy day. We haven't left the comfort of our couches or our jammies all day. Zac played his video game a lot. We watched Inside Man and then the UA/ASU football game and now we're back to video games. Even Daisy has had an all day snooze fest. It's windy outside and it'll probably get cold tonight but we'll be ok.

Thursday we went to my parent's house. My Tias Olivia and Liz and cousin Brandy came to town all the way from El Paso. Cecelia's dad and step mom also made it for Thanksgiving dinner. It was nice to see family even though it can be exhausting at the same time. After dinner and dessert I overheard my brother asking Brandy if she wanted to do something on Friday. As they were trying to figure out details I said Brandy could come home with me and Zac. If I can save a cousin of mine from having to endure endless chatter and gossip by our moms I will do it! I've been there and know how boring it gets when there isn't anyone that wants to talk to you or hang out with you. Well having a 17 year old that you don't see very often is kind of hard. Zac and I aren't small talkers and she was pretty quiet too. Even though she probably didn't have the time of her life I'd like to think she was better off with us than she would have been at my parent's house. Thursday night we watched a bunch of tv and Friday morning we took her out to breakfast and then a quick little trip to Target. A little later we met up with Xavier, Cecelia and the kids and walked around 4th Avenue. For the first time ever I went into Chocolate Iguana and it was amazing! It was so cute! I really am hitting myself for never going there before! After 4th Ave we went up to University and ate at Pei Wei, not local but Brandy had never been to one. We then took her up and down the UofA. I got into tour guide mode and shared some school history. Friday was really nice and the weather was nice and warm. We said our goodbyes to Brandy later that night as Xavier agreed to drive her back to Marana.

Things to be thankful for-of course the health and well being of our family and friends near and far. My Dad has been given the doctor's release. Even though he can go back to normal we can tell my Dad still has a way to go before he's totally ok. We've had quite a few celebrations this year from weddings to graduation and a new job. We've also had our time to be Bishop's family. Sadly, we had to let him go so he wouldn't suffer anymore. We loved, we lost, and we survived.....that should be a new home decor thing.
