I've been wanting to blog about dresses for a while but everyone else beat me to it! My main reason was with prom happening last month I've seen a ton of pictures posted. Normally I love prom dresses but it seems the fad this year was SLUTFEST 2012!
When I was growing up I fantasized about prom this is what I remember:
Metallic colors, crushed velvet with huge bows. Whatever the color of dress there had to be a huge bow somewhere on the dress.
I don't have pictures of when I went to prom but the popular style of dress was:
I just grabbed this pic off the web. Dresses were somewhat simple maybe with some soutache or sparkly adornments. Dresses that looked like different shades were also popular.
Then I remember when I was student teacher and chaperoned a prom I was amazed at how tiny the dresses became. This year I saw a few pics of girls going to prom and in each of these pics the dress was equally as tiny! Why wear this:
The pic is from Forever21 and although it's on the cheap side and probably proper for clubbing it won't forgive any curves a woman might have and yeah some women no matter their body type like to rock it. I get it. But why wear skin tight mini dresses when you can wear this:
Ok so maybe I personally wouldn't have gone so pink...or so frilly but I definitely would stay away from these outfits....it's been done before get over it....stop with the starburst, gum, soda pop, and duct tape dresses!
