The day after my drunken escapades Danielle decided to take me to Estes Park for a day up in the mountains. This is the part I was looking forward to the most. I wanted to see green grass and if I was lucky I would be able to wear a sweater or see snow.
So on our way out of the big city Danielle would entertain me by "pretending" she knew where she going. Finally when we got onto the highway we needed she admitted in her own Danielle fashion that she was glad she was finally going the right way.
It was absolutely beautiful going into the mountains. On the way up Danielle pointed out a hotel and when I looked up I immediately recognized it as The Stanley Hotel. Wednesday night I had to watch my netflix and it just happened to be Ghosthunters at this hotel. So when Danielle offered to drive up I was so psyched! Turns out alot of people just go up to check it out. They even offer ghos
Unfortunately we didn't experience any ghosties but we did smell the most god awful smell coming from one of the stalls in the women's bathroom. That was the scariest part of the hotel.
While on the road we talked about love, religion, politics and boys. While we chatted I couldn't take my eyes off the scenery. Everything was so green and there was water everywhere. We decided to stop at a couple of lakes and walk around. The second lake we went to there was still snow and it was actually chilly! It was also harder to breathe.
On the way back we stopped in the little town. This place is so cute with streets smelling of fresh pastries, ice cream, fudge and pizzas and burgers. I would have loved to have rented a cabin nearby for a week just so I could see more of this little town. I would also love to go camping up there.
We finally decided to head back and knowing Danielle she always wants to take the scenic route. So on the way back we drove through the winding roads. Its just amazing to think of people living out on these somewhat desolate roads. It's sad to think that I couldn't even imagine not having cell phone service or a few stores nearby. A part of me would much rather be living in a farmhouse learning how to live off the land and being cut off from this crazy world.
Anyway, we
We finally made it to the small town and went into a restaurant that serv
