new year shenanigans

New Year's Eve consisted of grocery shopping, coming home, getting into pajamas, taking two tylenol p.m's, writing a blog while Dan and Zac played Wii, getting the biggest blanket I own and falling asleep while waiting for midnight, give/get midnight kiss and go back to sleep in my bed.

New Year's Day was quite different. We went over to my parents where we ate menudo and bunuelos. My oldest brother, his wife and son made an appearance. This was the best part. It had been 6 months since I last saw any of them and they live 10 minutes away from us. Saul, my nephew, has grown up a bit since we last saw him but he still is a sweet little guy. Most memorable moment was when he was asked what was Zac's name and his response "Monster". Hee hee. My mom then fed us again with pot roast, rice and beans. After dinner we played a few rounds of Boggle (Zac's present) and we introduced them to Catchphrase (our present to them). We only played one round but it was fun. Right after Catchphrase we flew back to our house (a usual 45 minute drive) in about 25-30 minutes to meet up with Dave and Jaime. When we got home Dave, Jaime and Dan were all waiting for us in our living room. Sorry guys. We then took them to Grill where we munched on yummy foods and listened to the table next to us have thrilling conversations about something smart and we also watched Zac type out his google conversations on the table. Then we headed back to the house where Wii was played and much shouting ensued. I especially enjoyed Jaime shouting "slanty eyes, hook tooth" or something like that.
