A friend and I at work have talked about writing a book on facebook etiquette. We tell each other the craziest stuff we read on facebook and have a good laugh while we are supposed to be working.
We are both guilty of using facebook to find out more information on people we don't actually speak to in real life. We look up old friends/co-workers, their moms and their sisters. No one is safe. While we do our share of facebook stalking we feel like we aren't overly obnoxious in our own postings. So far there are a few things we think people need to remember while facebooking.
Parents are probably the most in need of some facebook etiquette. I think the most common annoyance is the comment to every post.
The occasional comment is nice and fine but when your mom is the one that posts the most comments on your wall then something is weird.
The other day I was looking at a coworkers new pic and reading the comments. This coworker was graced by god to have an enormous rack and she was proudly showing it off in her picture with a low cut Raider's shirt. A friend of hers wrote "Boo, put those away!" The coworkers mom put "You're just jealous" followed by a later comment "don't worry someday you'll get some". While I found the whole thing comical how embarrassing to have your mom defend your boobs!
Another weird thing parents do is friend request your friends that they may have only met once. It almost seems pervy sometimes. I think it would be ok if your friend has been around for a long time then it's like that friend is a part of the family but when your father friends your single friend that is a girl that he's only met once then it's way weird! (Note: not talking about my dad, he's not even on facebook)
It's also interesting what parents think is cool enough to post on your wall. One post I saw recently said "Have you heard this song by .....? The girls were jamming to it earlier." Who says jamming anymore? I was reading one of those failblogs about a mom sending a message to her kid saying something like "uncle dave died....lol". The mom thought LOL meant Lots of Love. Hahah!
I'm sure there was more stuff I wanted to post but I'm sleepy now.

I guess the only real thing to add here is a link to that girls facebook so I can friend her. (And her well defensed boobs.)
you would say something like this, wouldn't you?
we told the girl that in on of her profile pics she looks like she isn't even wearing a shirt, her response....I know, it's awesome!
