October hike #1-Mt. Lemmon

We'll see how long we keep these hikes up. One is a good start, right?

Today we decided to head up to Mt. Lemmon. We started out in Marshall's Gulch and started up a trail with Daisy leading the way. It seemed like forever going on this trail that only went UP!!! I hate going UP! It was a tough hike, for me anyways, I think Zac could have been skipping and running and he wouldn't even break a sweat. We finally got to the saddle(new term I learned today), and we headed back down the mountain. Along the way we saw many doggies and most were nice! Daisy also got pooped along the way and whenever she had a chance she would just plop down on the ground. Finally we got back down to the parking lot and looked at the map. We started on the Aspen Trail and then took the Marshall Gulch Trail back down for a total of 3.9 miles.

I think the trail took us 3 stinkin hours. I just looked at the Sierra Club website and they time it at 1.5 hours if you start at Marshall Gulch go up and then go back down using the Aspen Trail. Double that time for me when over 2 miles was spent going up first. This trail is also rated C in difficulty.

Daisy and I definitely got a workout. Daisy is passed out on the couch and I can hardly wait for tomorrows aches and pains!
